Follow Tracy Bates, RD, Chef Lindsey, and Susan, RD, into the kitchen and see the North Carolina K-12 Culinary Institute in action at West Smithfield Elementary. School nutrition professionals learn about a range of topics, such as knife skills, work simplification, and the use of equipment. Once through the Institute, staff graduate as Chef Ambassadors and are committed to “Teach It Forward” to other school nutrition professionals.
